Patriotic Tuck Postcard: Honor the Brave 1861-1865
Rafael Tuck & Sons designed this antique postcard as part of their "Decoration Day Postcards" series, No. 107. The card has striking graphics. Four large American flags on flag poles form the central design. A wreath of red roses encircles the slightly unfurled flag in the foreground. This flag has an eagle finial on the flagpole with a small wreath below the finial. A medal topped by an eagle over a flag and a five point star with portraits is superimposed on the flag. The card has never been stamped. At the top of the card is TUCK'S POST CARD flanked by a symbol with the words ""By appointment," referring to another phrase on the card. "Art Publishers to her Majesties, the King and Queen." This is an embossed divided postcard The card has some spots on the back, otherwise in fine condition.​
