Strange Turnings, that's me,
I Hand Crafted this Cocobolo Rosewood Laying Tool for Counted Thread Embroidery and Hardanger. It has a  Mother-of-Pearl finial inlay.
Most laying tools are usually very sharp and pointed. However, many years ago my wife asked for a tool to  move the threads  around when needed on linen, but not so sharp as to  pierce or slit the fibers. The result was this tool: a yarn needle which is more blunt in its tip and a Cocobolo Rosewood handle for ease of use. I ended up  make lots of them for members of her various fiber groups. The tools is 5 1/2" long overall and the Cocobolo Rosewood handle 3 3/4" long. This cut of Cocobolo has lovely figure is a orange-ish brown color with great grain features.
I believe that your fiber tools should be just as beautiful as the creations you make with them!
The tool comes in cotton cushioned white linen finish gift box. All natural finish.
