We recently purchased a hand-picked collection of cameo proof franklins amassed over 50 years
. The collector favored eye appealing black and white coins with strong cameo contrast. While most graded PR65-67 Cameo, we felt that many could have gone even higher. These are largely mark-free pieces, though the effects of light when photographing cameo surfaces may make it appear that there are spots or streaks. As expected, most show die polish since these proofs were struck from highly polished dies. PCGS has the annoying habit of giving you the higher grade, or the cameo designation, but not both. Registry collectors, type or eye appeal hunters should carefully consider this totally original, pristine bold cameo. Just back from PCGS so the holder is scratch-free.
