Description

This listing is for a divided back postcard with an image of Abraham Lincoln along with a passage from his address on March 9, 1832.  According to the website http://www.abrahamlincolnonline.org, this speech was his announcement for his first run for office.  He was
seeking his first seat in the Illinois General Assembly.  He lost the election but received a heavy majority in his own precinct - despite being only 23 years old and a newcomer to the state and community.
The card was put out by Sheahan Publishing in 1908.
It is in very good condition with the exception of a faint crease about an inch above the lower right corner.
